Safety/ Terms
All face painters are NOT the same.
Some use unsafe paints, lack hygiene and insurance, or produce terrible work.

As an Advanced member of ‘FACE’, Cat adheres to strict safety guidelines.
Cat has 5 million GBP Public Liability Insurance (Internationally) with Equity the Performers Union.
You get what you pay for.
Professionals like Cat may cost more, but are GOOD value, painting more & better faces in the same time. Plus they use SAFE, beautiful products!
Paints:
Cat only uses professional quality water-based face paints and cosmetic glitters (e.g. Grimas, Paradise, Wolfe, Kryolan Aquacalour, Mehron & Snazaroo). Beware cheap paints, paint sticks or crayons. At best they stain. Acrylics, pens, or anything requiring a barrier cream should NOT be on skin. Please email Cat to check brands you/ other painters have!
-
Clean sponges are used for each face.
-
Paints are removed easily with soap & water on a face-cloth.
-
Paints may not be suitable for sensitive skin. Skin tests available to check this.
-
We will not paint under 2′s or any child unable to tell us they WANT painted.
-
We will not paint over skin conditions or cuts.
-
We follow strict health & hygiene guidelines, and all sponges and brushes are cleaned after every event.
Child Safety:
-
As an ex-teacher, Cat has had CRB Police Checks for many years. This does not mean she is to be left alone with children; she is not a childminder. A face painter DOES NOT NEED a CRB check.
-
We will not paint a child, or anybody else, without their own consent.
-
At public events young children in our queue should be accompanied.
-
During face painting we explain what we are doing and chat with clients to put them at ease.
Who We Will Paint
-
We will not paint on wounds, infections, dirty or sensitive skin.
-
Babies under 2 and young children are not suitable subjects, and we may refuse to paint them.
-
We will not paint anyone however young, against their own wishes.
-
We reserve the right to refuse to paint any person or part of a person we feel is unsuitable, or with what we consider to be offensive symbols or subjects.
-
We will not use photos of painted children without parental permission. Photos will only be used for publicity purposes, and copies can be emailed free.
-
If more guests want to be painted than we were booked for, we may not manage all in the time quoted. If we can we will stay longer, if you wish to pay for the extra time.
-
At parties, one guest queuing is enough. We paint on through games and food, as 5 minutes absence from them does not upset most children.
-
We are not there to control or entertain the entire party, although we don’t mind an audience! Clients are responsible for their children at all time.
Equipment
-
We use only top quality, professional water-based products, but they may irritate sensitive skin. If you have sensitive skin, or allergies, please tell us before we paint you. We may be able to paint on less sensitive areas. We are not liable for any allergic reactions to paint – they are approved cosmetics but NOT hypo-allergenic.
-
A clean sponge is used for each face, and all are machine washed between bookings. Brushes are cleaned with professional soap between bookings.
-
Please arrange a space for us with good light, sheltered from sun, wind and rain. Do not touch, or allow children to touch, our equipment. Please don’t play in this area; we will not be liable for any damage or injuries should this occur.
Removing Paint
-
Remove painted faces with a flannel and soap, NOT baby wipes (which can irritate skin and may not take off the paint properly), NOT cleansing lotion.
-
Paint will not survive baths, or overnight (unless on your pillows!). Most paints wash off clothes. We exercise reasonable caution, but are not responsible for damaged clothes or property.
-
Glitter is applied by finger, ‘puffer’ or brush. It can leave sparkles – easy to hoover up!
Payment & Cancellations
-
Please pay by cash, cheque (Cats Creations in UK, C Finlayson-Wilkins in HK), PayPal or EPS, as arranged in advance. Due to some clients cancelling on the day, we may require a non-refundable deposit, payable when confirming booking details.
